A Hairy Situation

We’ve all spent countless weekends, paychecks, and agonizing hours trying to get rid of our fuzzy link to the animal kingdom. It sucks, it stinks, it burns, it hurts…(sigh).

I don’t have a solution to offer you, but I do have some options:

*Treatment frequency is exaggerated, kind of.

[one_third][clear][/one_third][two_third_last]Repeat every 2-3 weeks.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Lightens dark hair in minutes
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • May tingle or irritate skin and eyes
  • Hair is less visible, but still there
  • Could cause chemical burn if left too long
[/bullet_list][/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Repeat ever 4-6 weeks for some women, or once a week* for Italian, Southeast Asian, Latina, and Eastern European ladies.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Dissolves hair painlessly
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Skin burns before resistant hairs dissolve
  • Could cause chemical burn if left too long
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Hair is yanked out in large sections. Yes, it hurts. Repeat 4-6 weeks for some women, or once every 3 weeks* for Italians, Southeast Asians, Latinas, and Eastern Europeans.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Hair adheres to wax and is completely removed
  • Skin feels baby soft
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Hurts a lot!
  • Can cause irritation
  • Can remove more than just hair (i.e. skin!)
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Like waxing but not as painful. Repeat 4-6 weeks for some women, or once every 3 weeks* for Italian, Southeast Asian, Latina, and Eastern European ladies.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Hair adheres to mixture and is completely removed
  • All-natural (sugar, water, and lemon)
  • Hair is removed in direction of growth = less pain
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Hurts!
  • Can irritate very sensitive skin
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Hurt factor depends on your wussie level. Repeat 4-6 weeks for some women, or once every 3 weeks* for Italians, Southeast Asians, Latinas, and Eastern Europeans.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Thread wraps around hair and plucks out completely
  • Skin is not yanked
  • Great for removing small hairs
  • Cheap, easy, no mess
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Hurts a little
  • Minor irritation, if any. Don’t be a baby!
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Again, hurt factor depends on your wussie level. Repeat 4-6 weeks for some women, or once every 3 weeks* for Italians, Southeast Asians, Latinas, and Eastern Europeans.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Hair is removed from roots
  • Great for stray chin hairs!
  • Gets small hairs
  • Cheap, easy, no mess
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Hurts a little
  • Not good for large areas
  • Method responsible for millions of eyebrow mishaps
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]Repeat once every week for some women, or every day* for Italian, Southeast Asian, Latina, and Eastern European ladies.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Surface hair is removed
  • Skin feels smooth
  • Gets small hairs
  • Cheap and easy
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Stubble
  • Benefits are short-lived
  • Razor burn, cuts, in-grown hairs
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]The process involves a microscopic needle. Repeat… never (once you’ve completed your treatments)! You’re done, at least for some women. For others, you never know.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Follicle is destroyed
  • Potential long-term solution
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Multiple treatments
  • Expensive
  • Results are not immediate
  • Has caused severe skin irritation
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]The process feels like tiny rubber band snaps. Repeat… never (once you’ve completed your treatments)! You’re done, at least for some women. For others, you never know.[clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Follicle is destroyed
  • Long-term solution
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Multiple treatments
  • Expensive
  • Results vary
  • Not great for dark hair on olive or darker complexion
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]

[one_third][/one_third][two_third_last]It’s a cream! Repeat routinely for some women; Others, can’t afford to forget![clear] [bullet_list icon=”plus”]
  • Slows hair growth
  • Reduces hairiness maintenance
[/bullet_list][clear][bullet_list icon=”minus”]
  • Rx = chemicals
  • Prescribed
  • Results vary
  • Does not remove hair
[/bullet_list] [/two_third_last]
